5 different ways to spend Valentine’s day…
Whether you’re a hopeless romantic, spending your first Valentine’s together, madly in love, or a single Pringle. Here are a few ways to spend your day, either with friends, family or with someone special!
Maybe you love Valentine’s Day, or maybe you hate it. Surely any excuse, to go on a trip or plan something fun, is a good excuse..?
Let me know in the comments below if you have anything planned, what you’re doing, who you’re spending it with. I’d love to know 💕⬇️
1. Always busy and living on a budget?
Make an ‘at home’ reservation.
For one ☝️ trying to book a restaurant around Valentine’s can be hectic, not to mention costly. I love dining in style as much as the next person but that doesn’t always have to mean eating out.
If you find that you’re always busy and rushing from one important errand to the other, barely getting chance to sit down and have a meal together, whilst also watching what you spend. Then this is PERFECT!
Set aside some time this Valentine’s Day, put it in the diary. Give yourselves one evening free. Plan your favourite meal, or maybe something new. Search for a recipe and make your very own dine in for two.
Simple, cute and without breaking the bank.
2. Splashing the cash this year and want to really ‘push the boat out’
Nothing says I love you like a spa day.
Contrary to my first point, these tend to not come cheap, but here’s your chance to go to town this Valentine’s.
After the Christmas break, it’s a long wait until the summer holiday comes around and we all deserve a wind down every now and again. Treat your partner or a friend and plan a last minute weekend away or spa day for two.
I’ve been finding lots of great deals through Groupon recently. It’s been making short breaks and trips away look VERY tempting!
3. Keeping it simple?
Not everyone likes to make a massive occasion out of Valentine’s day, but it’s still nice to acknowledge the day and take the time to show your love and appreciation for that one person who puts up with you 24/7 🙈
A classic meal out, you can’t go wrong.
Ignore the wacky, ‘out there’ gifts. Not everyone wants a huge teddy taking up their entire living room, or a balloon that will barely fit through the door. But… to have some quality time together, eating a beautiful meal cooked for you. Who doesn’t want that?
4. Be a little random this Valentine’s and think outside the box.. Why not?
Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be full of roses and chocolates. Maybe you want to tick something off the bucket list, or just do something you’ve never done before.
Here are a few suggestions… (some a little crazier than others!)
• Mini crazy golf
• Go carting
• Lazer quest
• Ski dive lesson!
• Full blown ‘movie style’ picnic in the park (champagne included)
• Ice skating/roller skating
• Rock climbing
5. Is cheap and cheerful your style?
Embrace these last weeks of winter time and go on a cute walk through your local park, woods or down the canal. Sometimes it’s just nice to take some chill time out together and you could even stop for some coffee and cake (Dependant on where your walk has led you!)
Chilled, cute and FREE (minus the coffee and cake)
